Private equity firm Denham Capital and Themis, a developer and financier of African infrastructure, have teamed-up to create a new Africa power investment platform which will initially target USD 250mn of equity investments in natural gas and renewable power.
Denham has invested in this project through its International Power Fund. The partnership with Themis will build on its leading position as an investor and developer of natural gas-fired and renewable power generation assets across Africa.
The Themis team will be head-quartered in Morocco under the a new company Neo Themis.

The company is actively developing approx. 400MW across Africa, which includes the 44MW Singrobo hydro project in Ivory Coast that is expected to break ground before summer 2018. It is also targeting the development of over 1GW of gas-fired and renewable power generation projects in the medium term.
